Ricardo employees ride for a cause to support Starlight Children’s Foundation

This month, 27 employees from Ricardo have come together on their bikes to raise money and awareness for the Starlight Children Foundation.

Our colleagues have been out in force already, pedalling an impressive 4,000 kilometres to date and raising £7,429 for the Foundation. They are well on their way to meeting their target of exceeding £10,000 before the end of September.

The challenge has brought teams and families together, provided motivation to explore local environments, and inspired individuals to do their bit for a great cause.

All the volunteers are committed raising as much money as possible for Starlight, often for their own personal reasons. Martijn Gough, a Business Manager from our Water consultancy team in Melbourne, summed up what motivates him to ride an epic 800kms this month: 

“As a family we've had a lot of visits to the children's Hospital. Fortunately, none of them too long, but long enough to see that for some kids the hospital is a second home. The experience has inspired me to support the Starlight foundation. I've always loved riding my bike, but it's even better doing it with a purpose - to raise awareness and money that will raise the spirits of children with serious illnesses.”
