Ricardo has announced today that the company’s global director of hybrid and electrical systems, Paul Rivera, has been appointed to the board of directors of CALSTART.
Located in Pasadena, California, CALSTART is a member organization with over 140 firms comprised of automotive OEM’s, fleets and government agencies worldwide, dedicated to supporting a growing high-tech, clean transportation industry that cleans the air, creates jobs, cuts imported oil and reduces global warming emissions. CALSTART’s goal is to develop and implement clean, efficient transportation solutions.
Paul Rivera's appointment comes just a few months after Ricardo's expansion into California. "This appointment shows Ricardo's commitment to hybridization and electrification, as well as to continued growth in California," commented Thomas Apostolos, president of Ricardo, Inc. "We believe that our expansion in California will bring tremendous value to our clients - not only within the state, but also to customers across the US and internationally who are working towards clean transportation."
“We are very pleased to have Paul joining our board of directors,” said John Boesel, president and CEO of CALSTART. "Paul brings a global perspective and will join other industry leaders in helping to chart the course for our organization as we work to accelerate the growth of the clean transportation tech sector in California and nationally.”
“I am honoured to have been nominated to the board of directors of CALSTART," added Paul Rivera. "Ricardo’s innovative technologies in hybridization, electrification, and CNG engines provide a solid foundation to help CALSTART in its endeavours to reduce greenhouse emissions and our reliance on fossil fuels.”
