Ricardo receives Supplier Award from Toyota

Ricardo, a world-class environmental, engineering, and strategic consulting company, has received an Excellent Supplier Performance Award from Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) at their 2022 Annual Supplier Business Meeting on April 28.

The annual event recognizes top performers from their North American contractors, distributors and service suppliers, and Ricardo was presented the award for their development work on fuel cell integration for heavy duty applications to help decarbonize the global transportation industry.

Ricardo has been working with Toyota to develop Class 8 heavy duty zero emissions fuel cell electric trucks. Ricardo assisted Toyota in the design, testing and development, including systems integration and packaging of fuel cells, power electronics, hydrogen tanks, cooling systems, batteries, electric motors and transmission. The objective has been to deliver increased vehicle range, reduced refuelling times and improved vehicle efficiency to decarbonise heavy duty transportation.

This award further strengthens Ricardo’s position as leaders in zero emissions fuel cell technology development and integration for cross-sector applications including heavy duty haulage, aviation and mass transportation. Ricardo’s strategic and technical experts support global transport clients in defining future technologies to address the world’s most complex energy and mobility challenges to create a safe and sustainable world.
