Ricardo, a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consulting company, is delighted to announce that Dragica Kostic-Perovic has been awarded the Best Woman Electrical & Mechanical Engineer at the European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards (WICE) 2022 which took place in London on 26th May.

The WICE Awards aim to find the most exemplary women working across construction and engineering and drive diversity across the industry as women in engineering represent only 9% of UK engineering professionals.

The Best Women Electrical & Mechanical Engineer category recognises women working within this engineering discipline who are making significant contributions to the industry. Anne-Lise Gras was a finalist in Best Woman Project Manager category which recognises project managers who have motivated and led a successful team in order to keep a project on scale and on budget.

Teri Hawksworth, President Ricardo Automotive & Industrial EMEA said: “We are delighted that Dragica has been recognised for this prestigious award and it has been a privilege to attend this year’s event which celebrates so many talented females from the engineering community. Dragica, Chief Engineer – Electric Machines said “Progressive companies like Ricardo, backed up with wider initiatives, like the WICE Awards, which celebrate the achievement of female engineers, will make a difference, and improve the diversity and inclusivity in the engineering profession for the new generation, like my daughter’s. Having won this prestigious award fills me with responsibility. Responsibility to speak up, promote and explain female and minority perspectives and experiences in everyday situations in the engineering workplace, thus changing the culture every day, one step at a time.”
