Fresh from celebrating its European Le Mans Series teams title, Greaves Motorsport has permitted Ricardo to reveal its role in a transmission and driveline partnership, providing robust, ultra-reliable technology and support to the European Championship winning team.
The partnership between Ricardo and Greaves Motorsport goes back over eight years, with Ricardo being responsible for the design, ongoing development and support throughout the season, for the complete driveline –connecting the clutch to the wheel hubs, and including the transmission, visco-mechanical differential, clutch shaft and drive shafts – of Greaves Motorsport's LM P2 Gibson 015S 2015 championship winning chassis.
“We’re really pleased to have helped Greaves Motorsport in their very successful 2015 season,” commented Ricardo Performance Products managing director Mark Barge. “As with so many of our motorsports customers, the relationship with Greaves Motorsport extends to far more than equipment supply. Ricardo believes in a partnership approach which also extends to our engineers supporting customer teams in both pre-season testing and race weekends as required. It’s a model that we have developed and refined over many years, and it’s one that – as our highly successful work with Greaves Motorsport shows – is highly effective.”
Following a successful 2015 season, the Ricardo driveline package delivered to Greaves Motorsport is fully optimized and race-ready for 2016. With regulation changes expected for 2017, Ricardo is already in in discussion with several teams in LM P1 and LM P2 to ensure it continues to be the partner of choice for the very best in endurance circuit racing.
Ricardo will be at Autosport 2016, 14-17 January, at which the company will be displaying some of its latest motorsport transmission and driveline products – visit us at stand number E590.
