Agreement will see Ricardo and LS Mtron engineers work together on a brand-new high-torque, high horsepower transmission.
LS Mtron is Korea’s leading global agricultural machinery company, and supplies tractors in over 40 countries.
The subject of the first major contract between Ricardo and LS Mtron, the new transmission will use the latest available technology, providing a fully power shiftable, state-of-the-art solution. In a project expected to last in the region of two years, a fully collaborative approach will be adopted, with Ricardo and LS Mtron engineers working together in both the UK and South Korea.
“Ricardo is pleased to be able to announce this first major contract with Korea’s global leader in agricultural tractors,” commented Ricardo president of Korean operations, Ken Kim. “Through our highly collaborative approach to such major programmes, we will be able to provide technology transfer and design process training, yielding enduring benefits beyond the state-of-the-art powershift transmission that we will jointly create. We look forward to working with LS Mtron on this exciting new project, and hope that this marks the start of a long and mutually beneficial collaboration between our two companies.”
