“Ricardo warmly congratulates McLaren on this well-deserved award,” commented Ricardo director of McLaren programmes Jason March. “The M838T engine is an exceptional product that powers a fantastic luxury supercar in the 12C application for which it has been recognized.”
In addition to the collaboration on design and development, the McLaren V8 is assembled at a state-of-the-art engine production facility at Ricardo’s Shoreham Technical Centre. The facility provides a near clean-room production environment in which each and every process is carried out according to strict, best-in-class quality principles and within a comprehensive ‘no faults forward’ culture.
“We are proud to have helped McLaren in designing and developing this award-winning engine, and also in assembling the production version of it at our new high performance assembly facility,” continued March. “I believe that the McLaren 12C and its exceptional engine define the future of the supercar segment, with extremely fuel-efficient and refined power delivery. The M838T engine is well deserving of this award; it is a product that everyone here at Ricardo is very proud to be associated with.”
