Ricardo plc announces the appointment of Mark Clare as its new Chair, succeeding Sir Terry Morgan, whose planned retirement was announced in February this year
Ricardo plc is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Clare as new Company Chair with effect from the conclusion its Annual General Meeting on 17 November 2022. Mark succeeds Sir Terry Morgan, who will step down, having served as Chair for nine years.
Mark Clare brings to Ricardo substantial plc-level experience and is currently non-executive chairman of Grainger plc, a UK-based residential property business, listed on the London FTSE 250 index. He is also a senior independent director of Wickes Group plc and a non-executive director of Premier Marinas Holdings Limited. From 2005-2016, he was the CEO of Barrett Developments plc, a FTSE 100 house builder.
Mark looks forward to joining the Ricardo Board on 1 November as a non-executive director and Deputy Chair and as a member of Nomination and Remuneration committees. This will allow a smooth transition and induction process.
Malin Persson, Ricardo’s senior Independent Director, said: “The Board is delighted that Mark has agreed to be the next Chair of Ricardo plc. He has experience in leading and chairing publicly listed companies and brings a strong set of skills and experience. On behalf of the Board, I would also like to extend our thanks to Sir Terry for his excellent stewardship over the past nine years, during which Ricardo has made considerable strategic progress.”
Sir Terry Morgan added: “I am delighted that Ricardo plc has been able to attract Mark to join Ricardo plc as my successor. The Board and the company will greatly benefit from his significant business acumen, and I have no doubt that with his unparalleled experience in multi-industry businesses, he is ideally placed to support Ricardo in becoming a leader in environmental and energy transition solutions.”
