Matthew Moss

Matt leads the delivery of maritime-related projects within the Sustainable Transport team at Ricardo using his sector expertise to advise public and private clients on a range of projects spanning the maritime sector, especially on green shipping corridors, maritime decarbonisation and alternative fuels. He manages a portfolio of projects spanning a broad range of technical and policy areas both in and out of the maritime sector and provides technical contributions to all maritime projects based on his industry knowledge.  

Prior to this he worked for Innovate UK KTN as their Maritime Lead being a focal point in the maritime industry for all things innovative. Matthew was a figurehead in the design and delivery of multiple rounds of the Department for Transport funded Clean Maritime Demonstration Competitions, as part of a wider intervention package of £206m, specifically leading on industry engagement.   

He recently led a study on behalf of the International Maritime Organization Future Fuels and Technology Project reviewing sustainability practices and how these can be applied to marine fuels in the context of updating the IMO LCA Guidelines. The outputs of this work were presented at an Expert Working Group and at ISWG-16.
