Yahya Naderi
Biography
Dr. Yahya Naderi completed his B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Power Engineering at the University of Tabriz before earning his PhD in 2018, with research focused on "Flexible Power Quality Dispatch in Smart Microgrids". As a Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA) in the UK, Dr. Naderi occasionally lectures as a visiting scholar on topics such as power electronics, power systems, and challenges around integration of low carbon technology devices in modern power networks. His expertise spans power electronic converter design and control, power electronic systems for aerospace applications, power quality, microgrids, smart grids, and the integration of low-carbon technologies into power networks.
Dr. Naderi has also worked as a researcher at several universities and research centres, including Aalborg University (AAU-CROM), Newcastle University, University of Strathclyde and the Rolls Royce technology centre for over six years. His contributions to the development of the Vicinity 2020 project—a test platform for IoT and smart home applications—along with his experience in designing electrical systems for residential and commercial buildings, have led him to specialise in power quality enhancement devices, including UPS systems, active and passive filters, stabilizers, and DVRs. For his contributions to the electrical power industry, Dr. Naderi has earned the title of 'Chartered Electrical Engineer' (CEng) and is a senior member of IEEE (SMIEEE).
Yahya actively contributes to academia by delivering workshops at international conferences and serving as a reviewer and topic editor for various IEEE and IET journals and conferences. He is a member of the IEEE Industry Applications chapter and participates in the working group developing the IEEE 1547.7 standard.
