Biography

Joshua is an economist with a passion for sustainability. During his time at Aither, Joshua has delivered a number of evidence-based economic analyses that are easily understood and provide valuable information funding bodies and decision makers.

He has worked alongside engineers, researchers, industry bodies and government stakeholders, and has a keen interest in using multi-disciplinary approaches to facilitate resilience and adaptation. Joshua has a range of experience undertaking economic analysis in the NRM, water, agriculture and emergency management sectors. This has included quantification of the costs of coastal hazards, bushfires and water shortages, and the benefits of major water infrastructure projects, coastal adaptation measures, bushfire risk reduction measures, and adaptation options for farmers. He recently worked with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to quantify the costs of coastal hazards across 55 erosion hotspots in WA. The analysis included quantification of physical, social, environmental, and economic costs arising from coastal erosion and inundation. By consolidating economic analysis with an understanding of strategic context and policy objectives, Joshua is able to develop and critically evaluate policy and create valuable insights for his clients.
