Nigel Gibson
Biography
Nigel Gibson has worked in the environmental sector for several years and his technical expertise includes measurement of odour and pollutant and their control, impact assessment using screening and modelling techniques, and BAT assessment of abatement techniques. Nigel has also prepared environmental guidance documents for a number of Government Bodies, on odour assessment and control (for UK Environment Agency, Abu Dhabi Environment Agency and Environmental department of the Dubai Municipality)), control of compost odour (Defra) and control of odour from commercial kitchens (Defra). The Defra kitchen guide have been redrafted by Nigel and released through EMAQ. In addition, Nigel has provided expert witness advice to local councils and other regulatory bodies on numerous sensitive odour and air quality -related planning applications & appeals. Nigel has also been involved nuisance and abatement notice proceeding dealing with rendering, paint spray, commercial kitchens, styrene, fragrance and flavour compounding as well as agricultural and waste management processes. Nigel manages Ricardo’s UKAS accredited olfactometry facility.
