Sally Webber Matchett
Biography
Sally is a consultant with a strong climate change focus. She employs her expertise in science, conservation, and environmental law to tackle multifaceted environmental issues. Sally’s project experience has covered strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, regulatory frameworks, and legislative drafting to improve water governance arrangements both nationally and internationally.
Before joining Ricardo, she was involved in biodiversity and conservation management research, particularly focused on species conservation. Her work involved using data modelling to assess the environmental impacts of farming and irrigation on habitats in Australia, aiming to promote sustainable development amidst climate change. Proficient in R for data analysis and visualisation, she applies her skills to support environmental policy decisions and achieve data-driven sustainability outcomes. Sally has predominantly provided research and drafting support to clients in the Middle East for the last three and recently assisted in drafting an irrigation management policy for a greenfield state.
Sally’s experience covers both technical scientific side of resource management and regulatory frameworks on a national and international level. This allows her to understand and interpret clients’ complex scientific systems and problems and engage with them on a policy level.
