Stacey's Story

What is your role at Ricardo?
I am an HR Advisor. I work with multiple stakeholders across the business to achieve the best people outcomes.

What does your average day at Ricardo look like?
A typical day consists of meetings with Team Leaders or Directors, fielding queries from staff about HR related matters, managing candidates who have applied for a role with us, and working on various HR projects.

What do you look forward to at work?
Talking to people and building and nurturing relationships.

What do you find most rewarding at work?
HR projects and activities can often be complex – I find it rewarding to see something through to completion that has had many moving parts.

What was your team’s latest achievement and how was it celebrated?
I am brand new to my current team! We are just starting to work together and outline our projects for the remainder of the year.

How have you developed your career at Ricardo?
I have completed a Mental Health First Aid certification and am the Mental Health First Aider for our Australian teams. The certification has further enhanced my skills in being able to identify when someone is not ok, be that mental health or substance abuse challenges, and how to provide support to them through empathy, listening and responding appropriately.

What do you most enjoy about working with your team?
They’re a very collaborative and supportive group of people who are all working hard to achieve great outcomes for our people in the business.

What advice would you give to anyone considering a career as a HR Advisor?
HR can be a very emotionally demanding line of work – it is important to cultivate the right balance of life and work to ensure you are performing at your best.
