We are currently looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller and the Finance Business Partner in ensuring financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes.
- Process internal and external invoices.
- Preparation of the weekly debtors report.
- Assist the Financial Controller with Payroll TAx and BAS lodgements.
- Follow up unpaid invoices and debt recovery.
- Assist the Financial Controller and the Finance Business Partner with the determination of month end accruals and prepayments between successive financial periods to ensure effective financial management and reconciliation..
- Process bank and other reconciliations.
- Process credit card and personal expense claims.
- Enter Accounts Payable invoices into Ricardo's Finance system for payment.
- Ensure all payments are made on time as required.
- Respond to queries and requests for information to meet business requirements.
- Gather financial data, contributing to the preparation of budget submissions, financial analyses, and projections.
- Check financial data recorded in journals and ledgers to verify the accuracy and completeness of the financial data.
- Identify and recommend resolution options to assist in problem solving and resolving any financial disputes raised by external parties.

Key competencies and experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, specifically within financial accounting processes.
- Previous data analysis experience.
- Previous experience with payroll and knowledge of Xero.
Skills and behaviours
- Advanced level skills in Excel and intermediate level in other Microsoft packages.
- Strong grasp of financial functions, including exposure to commercial financial systems and CRM software.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to produce high quality reports as well as communicate confidently with a variety of clients and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to work methodically and thoroughly.
- Well developed customer service capabilities with the ability to develop and nurture stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and improve expertise.
- Self-motivated with a desire to achieve high standards.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Desirable
- Financial qualification or equivalent industry experience.
