Senior Renewables Implementation Consultant

The team 
The Sustainable Energy Systems team comprises a group of highly experienced professionals specialising in engineering techno-economic, and management consultancy services for the energy sector, with particular emphasis on the power sector. We cover power generation, transmission and distribution planning, electricity tariff and affordability studies, renewable energy integration, regulation, policy, power market design and “smart grid” innovation projects. We are a respected consultancy in the hydrogen sector and our depth and breadth of expertise and diverse portfolio provides potential candidates with a unique opportunity to work on such projects across the globe. We are a committed team of like-minded professionals with a growing portfolio of energy technology, policy and strategy projects. 

The Role

A winner doer to grow our renewable energy owners engineering services. The proportional split in activities will evolve to suit business needs at the time but will include business planning, new business development, management of existing relationships and project oversight/delivery.

  • Senior role in Engineering Consultancy or EPC
  • Strong technical background in renewable project implementation
  • Good knowledge of utility scale solar PV, BESS and developers / funders
  • Experience of reviewing design and procurement documents and contracts
  • Experience of CDM and health and safety
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer facing experience
  • A self starter with business development experience, an existing network of contacts in sector and an understanding of market rates
  • Experience in defining the client’s need and preparing successful proposals
  • Substantial professional experience
  • Masters in Engineering

Desirable

  • Professional accreditation
  • Consultancy experience
  • On and/or offshore wind feasibility experience
  • Green hydrogen experience

Optimistic:

  • Transmission level connection experience
  • Experience of the Planning and EIA process
