We are recruiting a General Manager based in Brisbane (Preferred), Sydney or Perth

Key responsibilities

  • Take primary responsibility for development and management of the Ricardo Rail business in Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
  • Take primary responsibility for development and management of the Ricardo Rail business in Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
  • Project sales pipelines and opportunities for the Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia portfolio of projects
  • Drive growth of Ricardo Rail's presence in the Queensland, Western Australia, and New South Wales markets through proactive business development efforts.
  • Provide regular sales forecast information and pipeline management activities to support the ANZ business with the same for the global rail practice.
  • Supporting the development of business strategies and road maps in alignment with Company goals.
  • Oversee bid and tender management including creating of the methodology documentation, resource planning and commercial analysis
  • Build Ricardo’s brand through strategically aligned relationships with key and emerging clients while building strong networks across the rail sector.
  • Collaborate with Ricardo clients and stakeholders to ensure business development needs are satisfied.
  • Responsibility for various project director / leadership roles for contracts as delegated by the Managing Director, ANZ.
  • Support the development and growth of high performing Queensland and Western Australia based rail teams.
  • Provide leadership and project management into key rail sector clients.
  • Abide by applicable workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Any other duty assigned to you having regard to your skills, training and experience.

Key competencies and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified, or similar training.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Senior Business Development and Management positions.
  • Prior relevant business development experience and market knowledge within the rail industry, with a particular focus on QLD, WA, and NSW (prioritised in that order).
  • Established business development relationships with the following entities: Qld Rail, Qld DTMR/TransLink, PTA WA, Sydney Trains, TfNSW, and Australian Tier 1 industry entities.
  • Experience managing complex bid development, and commercial management that meets strategic targets including cost and profitability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
  • High level of facilitation and negotiation skills and demonstrated success at building relationships with key stakeholders and other team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
