Key Purpose

Providing strategic advisory, consulting and owner’s engineering services across wide range of energy and infrastructure transition areas including Industrial Decarbonisation, Carbon Capture, and Energy Management.

In addition the successful candidate is expected to support business development activities and development of new technology and digital solutions

Business structure / reporting

Reporting to the Business Area Managers, Regional Leaders or potentially directly to VP of EIT depending on the position offered

Key accountabilities

  • Working collaboratively as a part of the team, lead project delivery of consulting assignments as requested for industrial decarbonisation, energy management systems, carbon capture, combined heat and power, heat pumps, manufacturing processes, or other relevant energy transition areas.
  • Provide required technical and commercial leadership and governance for consulting assignments as requested.
  • Hands-on delivery leadership with an ability to develop project reports and other critical deliverables as required (including process and utility system design, equipment specifications etc)
  • Provide technical leadership for all parts of the consulting assignment including assessment of key technologies offered by licenses or major OEMs.
  • Proactively lead development of subject matter thought leadership, white papers and promote Ricardo’s solutions and capabilities through events, conferences and other marketing channels
  • Support business area managers in developing new solutions and engaging with customers as a part of ongoing consulting assignments as well as business development related activities as requested.
  • Provide required support to-wards various internal and external initiatives including development of digital tools, marketing materials, market research and technology solutions.
  • Work with Business Area Managers to train, develop and mentor young professionals in the team supporting their individual capabilities development.
  • Lead proposal development process as requested ensuring compliance to Ricardo’s internal approval and quality processes.
  • Proactively assess new market developments and emerging challenges in the energy transition space. Share notable developments with the EIT leadership team.

Key competencies

We are not specific with regard to exact qualifications or years of experience, the sucessful candidate will bring the energy and capability to support business growth areas with the following background experiences:

  • Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to connect and communicate with Customers at all levels.
  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more subject matter areas.
  • Experience of US Government contracting and project delivery for organizations such as DOE, EPA, DOT, DOD, or other.
  • Appropriate industry and market knowledge relevant to the Practice and associated markets/sectors.
  • Sound understanding of industrial decarbonisation, manufacturing processes, combine heat and power systems and/or heat pumps, carbon storage, and carbon capture utilization.
  • Prior experience delivering consulting assignments including developing key strategy, commercial and technical deliverables suitable for concept, feasibility projects and owner’s engineer.
  • Ability to think strategically and presenting ideas in a concise and logical manner.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and develop a value-based proposition for customers to solve those problems.
  • Leading people – development, mentoring and coaching of individuals and being an inspirational presence for the wider business.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Experience of working in a complex / matrix global organization.
