BoMs Coordinator

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 plus benefits

Key Purpose

To control configuration management including Bill Of Materials control and drawing releases for new products and design changes and modifications at MTC for Performance Products. Additionally, to control and administrate master data within the Enterprise Resource Planning (LN) system and to raise all production orders.

Key accountabilities

  • BoM management for both on-going programmes and NPI (new programme introduction).
  • Carry out the ECR /ECN process (Engineering Change Request/ Engineering Change Notification) in a disciplined way.
  • Create and administrate new part numbers.
  • Raise and administrate (move, amend, close as required) production orders.
  • Administrate MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) system master data.
  • Mass system uploads for a variety of changes.
  • LN system support for the Supply Chain & Planning Department.
  • Administrate PI (Perpetual Inventory) system to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Create ad hoc reports from the MRP system as required.

Skills and Behaviours

Essential 

  • Educated to apprentice or A Level or similar in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent learned knowledge through experience.
  • Excellent level of Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Clear, logical thinker.

  • Articulate.

  • Organised and highly methodical.

  • Highly numerate.

  • Excellent data analysis skills.

The above behaviour competencies are more important than experience or education.

Desirable

  • Some experience working within a relevant area such as Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Configuration Control or Materials Control.
  • Experience working with ERP / enterprise management systems e.g. Sage or Infor LN or SAP.
  • ODBC query creating experience for LN report creation for data analysis.
  • Understanding of MRP systems – use and practise.
