Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 plus benefits
Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a Quality Engineer, responsible for ensuring quality activities and documentation are compliant to customer and QMS requirements.
Key accountabilities
- Running the internal APQP cross-functionally to ensure quality deliverables are met.
- Ensuring conformity to customer and QMS requirements by creating, reviewing, maintaining, and updating QMS documentation, processes, and procedures.
- Maintaining the quality concern tracking, providing regular reports, review and reporting on quality KPIs.
- Investigating quality related matters from customers, manufacturing, and continual improvement processes.
- Use problem-solving techniques to carry out quality investigations, ensuring conformity to customer and QMS requirements.
- Provide support to all functions with the progression of continual improvement actions.
- Update and maintain production documentation, such as PFMEA, Process Flows and Control Plans, to standardize and close quality investigations.
- Support QHSE workstreams.
- Point of contact for customers on quality matters.
- Carry out product and process audits.
- This role offers exposure to all areas of the business, working collaboratively with all functions to drive and deliver improvement.
- The nature of the role offers the opportunity to influence our processes and ways of working by identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action
Technical skills, experience, and knowledge
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification and/or experience.
- Experienced in automotive (or similar) manufacturing.
- Problem solving techniques and knowledge of continual improvement.
- Strong organisational skills and able to meet deadlines.
- Good level of IT skills, particularly MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Understanding of core tools such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
Desirable
- Working to IATF:16949 2016 standards.
- Experience with internal audit.

- Comfortable communicator - ability to communicate effectively with engineering and operational staff, from shop floor to senior management level, including with external clients and suppliers.
