QMS & Compliance Lead

Salary: £43,000 - £47,000 plus benefits

Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a QMS & Compliance Lead to sustain and develop Quality Management System in line with industry standards (including: IATF16949, ISO14001 & ISO 9001), accreditation requirements and business requirements across our organisation.

Key accountabilities

  • To supervise, lead, and coach the QMS & Compliance team to achieve quality management system targets for our customer and business goals
  • Monitor, control, and improve the quality and effectiveness of all processes throughout the Powertrain Assembly business.
  • Manage the audit program to ensure that all non-conformances raised are corrected and verified.
  • Embed a culture of process adherence, continuous improvement, and quality accountability throughout the company.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on the QMS.
  • Be a main point of contact for external bodies on all matters relating to registration.
  • Ensure that the necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures.
  • Train others in all aspects of the QMS and application of procedures.
  • Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Oversee the updating and reporting of the management scorecard, and Chair QMS review meetings.

Technical skills, experience, and knowledge

  • Automotive Quality Management System Auditing experience and managing audit programs.
  • Experience of the implementation of improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  • Commercially aware

Desirable

  • Relevant engineering degree, equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge / experience of 5S / LEAN / Six Sigma processes.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety Regulations.
  • Experience of APQP processes.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing.
  • Full driving license.
