Senior Financial Analyst

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000

The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and timely business information to the Senior Business Partner, Head of FP&A and cost owners. The finance analyst should have a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, a high level of discipline and organisation, and the ability to identify key insights arising from the data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Reporting: Oversee payroll, overheads, and delivery team costs; analyse SAP-based actual spend; standardise data coding; consolidate payroll inputs; ensure accurate cost categorisation; identify impacts of commitments (POs, accruals, prepayments); coordinate corrections and maintain spend controls.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Present actual costs with clear explanations for anomalies; collaborate with cost owners to review and update forecasts, comparing to prior budgets/forecasts.
  • R&D Projects: Report and forecast project costs, including capitalised development expenses, in partnership with R&D owners.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare detailed reports by Growth Solution, highlighting key variances and areas of focus; forecast depreciation and software spend; support month-end processes, allocation postings, and performance packs.
  • Group Reporting & Commission Payments: Input annual forecast data for insurance; calculate biannual commissions based on orders and cash receipts.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist with various tasks as needed.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Financial qualification or part-qualification – CIMA, ACA, ACCA
  • Financial analysis experience in a complex global organisation
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills including Power Query
  • SAP/Tagetik experience an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including working through challenges collaboratively and conveying complex financial information
