The Role
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant (or Associate Director) to join our Greenhouse Gas and Air Quality Modelling and Inventories team. This specialist role is ideal for candidates with at least five years of oil and gas consultancy or industry experience. You will contribute across all project phases—from proposal development to data analysis, emissions modelling, scenario building, and delivering high-quality reports for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experts to improve air quality and tackle complex challenges using science-based best practices.
- Contribute to high-impact projects, including the UK National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory and air quality/emissions inventories in the Middle East.
- Provide strategic advice and technical support to governments and the private sector.
- Develop and refine inventory models, methods, and assumptions.
- Engage with stakeholders across industry, academia, and the public sector.
- Support projections and scenario development for policy and emission reduction strategies.
- Contribute to the development of digital solutions, leveraging AI and advanced analytics.
- Depending on contractual location, international travel may be required.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Expertise in emission measurement and estimation for the oil and gas sector.
- Strong understanding of emission inventory methods (e.g., IPCC, EMEP/EEA guidelines, GHG Protocol).
- Knowledge of oil and gas emissions, detection technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with air quality pollutant modelling from oil, gas, and petrochemical operations.
- Familiarity with emissions reduction strategies and Net Zero technologies.
- Strong communication and client presentation skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality results with attention to detail and QA/QC processes.
- Established network within air quality, climate change, or industry sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in science, engineering, or mathematics.
- Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
- Experience working in the Middle East is advantageous.
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency in data processing and statistical analysis using Python or R.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
- Experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
