Senior Assembly Technician (Gearbox / Powertrain)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 plus benefits

Ricardo’s Performance Products division are seeking a Senior Assembly Technician that assembles gearboxes and axles for bespoke programmes, to pre-defined build plans, whilst upholding the highest quality standards. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assembly and end of line test of complex mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Working with relevant processes and committed to continuous learning.
  • Supporting the team leader to plan, prioritise and ensure maximum productivity, working to deadlines and time pressures to achieve monthly build plans.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Ability to use measurement equipment such as vernier, micrometer.
  • Familiarity with problem solving tools such as 8D, for investigation of quality issues and can work cross functionally in resolution of quality issues.
  • Is capable of training others to a known standard.
  • Supporting investigations and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Manages time effectively and prioritises tasks to meet set deadlines.
  • Pays attention to detail while following quality, health and safety procedures, and implements good judgment to make appropriate decisions.
  • Shows vigilance and diligence, maintaining high standards of work while staying calm under pressure.

Desirable

  • Some knowledge of LN system (ERP software for manufacturing).
  • Can read and understand / interpret technical drawings / CAD models.
