SETAC 2025
Ricardo is proud to announce our participation in the 35th Annual Meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Europe, taking place from 11-15 May 2025 in Vienna. This prestigious event brings together leading scientists from academia, business, industry, and regulatory bodies to address critical environmental challenges.
Our experts will be at the forefront of discussions, chairing two key sessions:
Integrating Environmental Hazard, Exposure, and Life Cycle Assessment (Session 7.02)
Ricardo’s Dawn Allan and Sam Hinton will co-chair a session alongside Eric de Deckere (Lyondell Basel) and Adrian Beard (Clariant) in the Moving Beyond - Cross Cutting Themes, Emerging and Transdisciplinary Topics track. This session will delve into the integration of ecotoxicology, environmental fate of chemicals, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to create a holistic framework for chemical risk management. We aim to explore how these disciplines can work together to design safer and more sustainable chemicals.
We invite participants to share their findings on integrating these critical areas, fostering a dialogue that could lead to advancements in regulatory practices and sustainable chemical design.
Hazards and Risks in Soil Management: : Balancing Practicality, Sustainability and Ecosystem Protection (Session 6.13)
Ricardo’s Kate Schofield will be co-chairing a session with Nicholas Willenbrock (CL:AIRE) and Chioma Chikere (University of Port Harcourt) in the Environmental Policy, Risk Management, and Science Communication track. This session aims to address the complexities surrounding soil health in relation to chemical risk assessment. By focusing on sustainable soil management practices, we hope to continue to build momentum for soil-related topics within SETAC.
We encourage contributions from researchers or practitioners to share their insights across the varied topic of soil environmental risk assessment, including, but not limited to advanced characterisation techniques, contaminant fate and transport, soil biodiversity impacts, tiered assessment approaches and nature-based solutions.
Showcasing Expertise
Ricardo's team will be submitting abstracts across various conference tracks, showcasing our broad expertise in environmental science and sustainable chemical solutions. We are particularly excited to present our latest research on innovative methodologies and case studies that advance understanding in these critical areas. We look forward to engaging in thought-provoking discussions with fellow experts and sharing our latest research and insights.
