Colin has 30 years’ experience advising on energy issues for policymakers and investors. Working initially in energy efficiency, then CHP, he worked on renewable electricity and local energy systems, developing projections and scenarios, evidence-based decisions for future power system architecture, plus horizon-scanning renewable energy technology innovations and markets. He has led extensive renewable energy feasibility studies, and undertaken audits and due diligence studies on wind, hydro, biomass and tidal energy technologies. He has assessed and developed transport energy infrastructure solutions needed to provide electricity, hydrogen and ammonia for road, rail and marine use. He leads hydrogen activities, building on his decade of experience with global clients.
Specialist in EU railway legislation with previous experience working for the UK Office of Rail and Road and the European Railway Agency (ERA) as a national expert. Expertise in Interoperability and the authorisation process, as well as EU and domestic railway legislation and government policy.
Dave has over 30 years of experience in the industry. He specialises in design, analysis and performance simulation, and the development of future vehicle powertrains.
David has over 20 years' experience in air pollution science having previously worked at the Environmental Research Group at King's College London and the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds. He leads the open source 'openair' project that has developed and made available many innovative data analysis techniques. The openair software is used extensively throughout the world and continues to evolve. Recently, David led two Defra projects using vehicle emission remote sensing to better understand vehicle emissions in urban areas. This work led to the first comprehensive primary NO2 emission measurements in Europe using a remote sensing technique. He has been a member of AQEG (Air Quality Expert Group) since 2002.
Dominic is a Consultant in the Climate Action Planning and Transparency (CAPT) team focusing on the development of NDCs and long-term strategies and transparency for mitigation and adaptation.
Fern has supported multiple organisations find solutions to their sustainability related challenges. This involves a wide range of work from carbon footprinting, to developing credible net zero roadmaps and science-based targets, to climate risk analysis.
Using her skills in analysis and engagement with clients and their stakeholders, Fern has not only helped to set ambitious and realistic targets but also demonstrated how decarbonisation can be achieved. This experience has ranged from working with small organisations to large parent groups and so Fern is able to tailor her work to each organisation, dependent on their own unique challenges and skills.
