Ricardo’s innovative fuel cell technology at Electric and Hybrid Marine Expo 2024
11 Jun 2024
Ricardo is excited to announce they will be showcasing their multi-stack hydrogen fuel cell solution at stand 9090 at the Electric and Hybrid Marine Expo 2024.
The cutting-edge multi-megawatt hydrogen fuel cell technology is one of the solution’s Ricardo has designed and engineered to support future decarbonisation across the maritime industry.
The technology has been designed and developed by Ricardo as part of the Sustainable Hydrogen Powered Shipping (sHYpS) project, for which the company is applying its world-leading expertise in the hydrogen value chain to implement innovative hydrogen technologies. Ricardo is the fuel cell system partner in the project, which includes the specification, design, build and test of a ~500kW gross, 375kW net power fuel cell module (RFC500) and the design of a 40-foot containerised multi-megawatt power plant that combines the outputs of several fuel cell modules.
The module, recently given Approval in Principle (AiP) by Lloyd's Register is undergoing testing at our purpose built hydrogen and fuel cell testing facilities at our Shoreham Technical Centre, UK.
Ricardo expert Trevor Downes will also take to the stage at the expo. At 9.40am on Wednesday 19 June in the Alternative fuels and energy sources for marine propulsion session, Trevor will discuss the sHYpS project and fuel cell technology in more detail.
You can join us on stand 9090 to get a closer look at this innovative technology and find out how it can help you to decarbonise your fleet.
