New report published on review of interstate trade arrangements

02 Dec 2024

From 2022-2024, Ricardo, led by Yvette Colton and Ryan Gormly, partnered with the Murray-Darling Basin Authority to deliver a comprehensive, multi-stage review of Schedule D of the Murray-Darling Basin Agreement. This process brought together diverse stakeholders to build consensus on complex water trade issues, marking a big step towards a more efficient, transparent market in the Basin.

The review’s outputs included:

  • In-depth issue and option analysis
  • Comprehensive documentation of consultation outcomes
  • Strategic changes to Schedule D and its protocols for streamlined administration and governance
  • New adaptive and accessible procedures

Supported by DG Consulting and Megan Dyson, Ricardo’s work culminated in a revised regulatory framework that simplifies compliance and promotes trade opportunities across the Basin. These are core service strengths we bring to any project—helping our clients tackle complex regulatory, stakeholder, and policy challenges with clarity and consensus.

We’re proud of this milestone achievement that supports a more resilient and adaptable water future!
